John Campbell

Attorney, Campbell Law and Co-Author, JuryBall
John Campbell is a pioneer in the science of juries, blending rigorous academic research with real-world trial strategy to unlock the secrets of how jurors think, decide, and deliver justice. Since 2011, John has dedicated his career to studying juries, immersing himself in both groundbreaking scholarly research and high-stakes, case-specific analysis. He has explored over 700 cases involving more than a quarter of a million jurors nationwide, partnering with some of America’s most respected and successful trial lawyers to translate data into powerful courtroom results. As the former director of the Civil Justice Institute at the University of Denver College of Law, John orchestrated some of the largest academic jury research projects ever undertaken and became deeply versed in the rapidly expanding literature on juror psychology and behavior. John has worked alongside some of the world’s brightest minds to tackle fascinating questions at the intersection of human cognition and juror decision-making, examining how people weigh evidence, assign value to damages, and respond to narrative persuasion in the courtroom. His mission is clear: to bridge the gap between cutting-edge research and everyday trial practice, empowering lawyers with insights that can transform their cases and deliver justice for their clients.
